Start Of A New Chapter

It’s refreshing, knowing that the path you’re on is the right one. It only took five years to make a decision but in that five years I really found what truly makes me happy.

It was this past semester that I made the decision to switch from my major being in Secondary Education and moved it over to Creative Writing. The trolls and critics of the world will scoff and laugh, saying that there’s no way for me to land a career as a creative writer. But, that’s where they’re wrong. Even if nobody reads this, even if they think it’s the worst thing they’ve ever read, I can still say that I’m rich. Rich in the happiness that writing provides me and rich in knowing that the people who love and care about me are so very proud of what I’m doing. The other bonus to switching my major is that I switched to a double minor in Marketing/PR. I have never seen myself as much of a “yuppie” type, but the deeper I go into my books and reading, the more I find how interested I truly am in learning the ropes and getting into the industry.

I know a lot of this just sounds like me rambling, but there’s something I think everyone can take from this post today. Follow what truly inspires you, what really makes you happy. Follow that dream that when you get up in the morning, you’re exhilarated to be a part of it once again. I, for one, can not wait to see what the rest of my future holds as I travel further and faster down this path. I hope that there are people out there in the world who will join me. It’s going to get bumpy and at times I’m certain that I’ll want to quit, scream, and question why I even started in the first place. But then, I’ll come back here and I’ll see all the people who have been reading these posts and remember that you do exist. That there are people in the world who enjoy what I write and want me to keep going.

So join me, won’t you? Join me in pursuing our dreams together and making the world what we want it to be. Join me in happiness, stress, crying, laughing, tearing our hair out and gluing it back on once we calm down.

Join me.

As it gets closer to classes starting back up, I’m going to remain vigilant in my posts and making sure that I get on here daily. Some of them might be shorter than the others, but I think we can continue to build our narrative here all the same!

I hope you all enjoyed the post today! I’ll be back again tomorrow with yet another exciting post. If you like it enough, be sure to follow my page and share it with all your friends!

Keep it real folks!
