Family Matters

I realized something today.

My classes are starting in less than 48 hours.

See what I did there? You thought I was going to start out by saying something about my family. But really, I realized that I haven’t really spoken much about my family. Today, I’d like to talk a little bit about who they are and what’s been going on in our lives.

If you don’t already know, I’m located in the southern state of Arkansas, along with the majority of my family. Most of us are located centrally, with a few further south and a few further north. I don’t mean to brag, but honestly, I couldn’t have asked for a better group of people to have in my life and call my blood. My mother and father are separated, she living in Hot Springs and he, living in North Little Rock. They both excel at their careers and love what they do. They’re both happily in relationships and I couldn’t be happier for them. I actually had the honor of being a co-best man with my younger brother at my fathers wedding this past Fall.

I have three younger siblings. My brother, closest to my age, is getting close to graduating from The University of Arkansas. My younger sister, is following close behind him, graduating from high school in a few months and then moving up to the same college. Then, I have my youngest sibling, still making waves in elementary school. Though we’ve never been as close as I’ve wanted us to be, I must say, we’ve gotten a lot closer as time has moved on and we’ve grown older.

I wouldn’t be able to write this post though if I didn’t talk about my biggest role models, my grandparents. They’ve been inspirations, motivators, and everything in between. My grandfather was the one who bought my first car, paid off the first college loans I accrued, and continues to fund parts of my life that I am still trying to get in order. My grandmother taught me etiquette, how to cook the majority of my current diet, and how to treat a lady. That’s not to say that my mother father didn’t play a huge roles in teaching me things as well. But, from the moment I was born (quite literally) my grandparents have been there to stand beside me through thick and thin, helping me in any way that they can. I hope that each of them gets the chance to see this and smiles, because I wouldn’t be here writing this if it wasn’t for each and every one of them pushing me to be the best that I can be.

This may come across as brief and surface level, but we have so much more time to spend together on here. There are aunts, uncles, cousins, and so many other amazing people in my family, I wouldn’t want to spoil all of the wonderful stories I can share with you all.

What’s your family like? Are they crazy? Supportive? Awful? Let me know in the comments and be sure to check me out all across the social mediaverse!

Have a wonderful Tuesday folks!
