The Journey Ahead: Preparing to Study Abroad

Wow. Over two months have flow by since I last wrote. I feel terrible…

Well, enough of that. TIME FOR AN UPDATE!
Let’s see, classes are going great, I’ve finally found my calling in writing screenplays and storytelling for my D&D campaign and OH YEAH I’M GOING TO BE IN FREAKING EUROPE FOR FIVE MONTHS.
Holy shit guys, this is literally the craziest thing that has happened to me. So, here’s the skinny on how this went down.
1. I applied.
2. I didn’t get it.
3. I get an email saying there’s a possibility I COULD get it.
4. Weeks of stressful, yet patient, waiting and I finally hear back from UCA and Edge Hill University (the university I’ll be studying at) and THEY ACCEPTED ME!

I know that’s a really condensed version of what actually happened, but I didn’t want to bog everyone down with the minor details. So, since then I’ve gotten my passport, airline tickets, and everything else set up and ready for the next five, exciting months of my life. The best part? I’ll be able to see what it’s like to be a creative and a writer across the pond. I can’t even begin to imagine what it’s going to be like seeing as it’s my first time flying overseas. Holy shit….it’s my first time flying overseas. *Barf* No joke, even though I’ve been flying back and forth to California since dating Heather, I’m still sort of terrified of being in the air for that long.

So what now? Well…this, really. I’m just trying to finish up my classes here and make sure that I’ve got my head on my shoulders for the big transition after Christmas. I’ve been trying to promote a GoFundMe (which you should all totally go check out) account that I set up in hopes that friends and family will donate towards it. Thankfully, there have been some amazing people who have already put money towards my being overseas and I still can’t thank them enough for it.

God, I don’t even know what to think about all of this. I’m so grateful for the opportunity. Not only because I’m the first Creative Writing student being sent, but I also get to represent my community, my campus, and my country while overseas. It’s going to be a heck of a journey!!

Be sure to keep up with all I’m doing and how the time spent overseas is through this, my wonderful blog!! I’m going to do my best to at least post weekly and up till the point of me actually leaving, I’ll be sure to keep you all updated on how things are going at home!

Stay Weird Folks,
